STUDY CENTRE

The SRA will be represented at the official launch of the Kings Lynn Stars Study Centre on 14th March 2007.  The Study Centre is the first of its kind in the world as, unlike the UK’s other centres which are linked to football clubs, here the education concentrates on motorsport, in particular Speedway. The centre is based only a couple of miles from the Norfolk Arena, home of the Kings Lynn Stars and, during 2006, was regularly attended by the clubs riders and management. Approximately 70-90 pupils a term attend the centre where they can learn anything from Maths to English Language in a fun, encouraging environment. Evaluation reports returned from pupils, parents and schools already suggest that attitudes to learning, self esteem, confidence, ICT skills and in many cases Literacy, had definitely improved. They are now working with schools from the secondary sector as well as Primary aged children.
The Study Centre initiative was an important factor in the naming of the Kings Lynn Management as Promotion of the Year during the SRAs 2006 Awards night. The SRA continues to acknowledge the commitment demonstrated by the Kings Lynn Promotion, and are delighted to attend this launch. The association is also hoping that the project can be extended further throughout the country, and offers the scheme its full assistance and backing.
